Hi Im traveling from New York to Santorini and Im interested in rent a car there with your company, however Im concern about if I need to have a international drive license. Can I rent a car with my regular licenses?

Agent

what licence do you have ?

Client

a regular driver licenses from New York

Agent

thats ok

Client

is good to rent a car in Santorini?

Agent

yes

Client

yes I did, but I was concern about the driver license issue. Because every place say that I need a international driver license to rent it

Agent

no, thats is 100% incorrect

Agent

All places in Europe except USA Licence as it is written in English. An IDL is effectively just a translation document for people ay from Russia or China

Client

ok, thank you again

Agent

This is the official interpretation:- Permanent driver's license with experience of not less than 1 year, not containing marks on significant offenses. Holders of driving licenses issued in the UK must present a driving license with a photograph. If the text of your driver's license is not written in Latin (for example, Arabic, Greek, Russian or Chinese), you will need to show both international and national driving licenses. In the event that a driver's license is issued in a country that is not a party to the international convention on road traffic, an official translation must be attached to them. When renting within the EU, customers from countries outside the EU must also present an international driving license.

Agent

so you are all set, have a good day

Client

ok thanks for the information, have a good day as well
