Driving in the city of Shanghai
Renting a car at Shanghai Airport is made more difficult by the need to obtain a local licence and the city does offer a good public transportation network. Driving in the city centre can be hectic at times and local Chinese drivers are not the most considerate.
Many people flying into the city of Shanghai opt to hire a car complete with driver. This is becoming an increasingly popular option, and local drivers have the advantage of being able to easily navigate the city and read the Chinese road signs.
